Celia Pascual has worked in public education for twenty-four years. At Yu Ming, she previously served as the Mathematics Coach, Assistant Principal and Principal. Prior to joining Yu Ming in the fall of 2016, Celia was a District Mathematics Specialist at Oakland Unified School District. In this role, she developed and led teams of teachers to develop math curriculum and assessments aligned to Common Core State Standards. Celia has led professional development for hundreds of teachers each year and served as an instructional coach to several elementary school sites across Oakland, supporting both teachers and administrators. Prior to becoming an instructional coach and district administrator, Celia spent eight years as an elementary and middle school teacher in Oakland and Union City.
Celia is also a former Project GLAD trainer, with expertise in second language acquisition. She earned her National Board Certification, the professional’s highest standards for accomplished practice. Celia earned a B.A. in Economics from UC Berkeley and received her Administrative Credential and M.A. in Educational Leadership from Reach Institute for School Leadership.
