Jennifer Shuen is the upper school Principal at Yu Ming Charter School, bringing a passion for innovative education and inclusive leadership. With roles as a school district’s instructional leader, Assistant Principal of Curriculum & Instruction, and Assistant Principal of Student Services, she has successfully implemented initiatives to support students’ academic and social-emotional well-being and enhance community engagement. Jennifer spent 15 years teaching Chinese at San Ramon Valley Unified School District, where she established and expanded the Chinese program and served as the district’s world language representative. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from UC Berkeley’s Principal Leadership Institute. Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys gardening, hiking, and participating in community projects through Rotary. Born and raised in Taiwan, she immigrated to the U.S. as an adult and values fostering a well-rounded educational experience that nurtures students into confident and compassionate leaders.
