Assistant Principal Xinxin Liu is a dedicated educator with over a decade of experience, who has formerly taught second and third grade at Yu Ming Charter School since 2021. She has contributed to the instructional leadership team and spearheaded initiatives like the Anti-Bias and Anti-Racism library translation project and the Chinese Language Arts Guided Reading project. A strong believer in nurturing diversity and inclusion and helping students become engaged and responsible global citizens, Xinxin’s teaching journey spans Thailand, China, and the U.S., including roles at Tsinghua University, Beijing Normal University, and Redwood City School District.
She holds Master’s degrees in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies and Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages from Beijing Normal University. Xinxin is passionate about educational research, co-authoring works on culturally sustaining pedagogies and working on projects that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in Mandarin immersion programs. Originally from Yunnan, China, she now resides in the Bay Area and enjoys traveling, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
